Experienced support

For over 20 years I have worked in businesses providing PA and business support to their senior management teams. During that time, I have experienced many sectors including legal, property, building, medical, HR, and education.

 
 
 

Why I love my work

I thrive on variety. I love that one day I can be providing technical support for an online training course, and the next day transcribing interviews, sourcing gifts or researching hashtags. I enjoy connecting with my clients and supporting them on the journey towards their business goals. I have been described by them as trustworthy, loyal and reliable. I work with businesses of all sizes – from one person start-ups to larger corporates – my skills are applicable to all. For me it’s more about how I connect with the people I am supporting - whether we have the same morals and ways of working.

The 2-assist story

In the spring of 2019, after 20+ years of working for different businesses, I started to take on some freelance admin work. 2-assist grew from there. The decision to move to self-employment wasn’t taken lightly. I grew up with my dad working for himself and so I’ve seen first-hand the uncertainty and hard work involved. I realise now what an inspiration he has been to me. However, I am approaching my business from a place that prioritises my wellness and family. Since starting 2-assist I have been lucky to connect with so many brilliant business owners. Those working in alignment with their values have had a very positive influence on me. They have also helped me to figure out what I stand for and recognise how important community is to me.

When I’m not working

I enjoy a regular yoga practice, keeping fit, and I also have a sweet tooth. I love cake! I live on the outskirts of Cambridge with my husband and three wonderful sons.

I look to be included within the businesses I work in, to be seen as part of the team, where we connect on a deeper level. Life experience has led me, in my personal and work life, to really value kindness and compassion. Loyalty is incredibly important to me, building trust both ways with a client is vital for a successful partnership. I believe in collaboration over competition and have had the opportunity to collaborate with some brilliant business owners. I don’t see competition in others. I see a chance to connect and help one another. I support others, encourage, and believe in them.
